Is Clean Greens Gluten Free?
Clean Greens doesn’t contain any gluten containing ingredients, however cross contamination can naturally occur throughout the processing of some greens such as wheat grass and barley grass. Therefore we prefer to err on the side of caution and recommend that gluten allergic or coeliac consumers avoid this product.
Does Clean Greens taste like pond water?
You’ll be surprised at how pleasant Clean Greens actually tastes given its just straight greens! Due to the high quality of our Australian grown grasses, Clean Greens has a pleasant freshness of flavour that otherwise goes amiss with greens sourced abroad. We also use a tiny dusting of certified organic stevia (literally, the amount is so small it may as well have been dust in the air) to slightly take the edge off any residual pond flavour.
Is there any Caffeine in Clean Greens from the Matcha Green Tea?
Clean Greens contains ⅓ of a milligram of caffeine per serve. To put this in perspective, one shot of coffee contains approximately 140 milligrams of caffeine and one serve of dairy milk chocolate contains approximately 10 milligrams of caffeine. Therefore Clean Greens is suitable for all consumers, in particular even pregnant or breastfeeding women who are concerned about caffeine consumption.
Is the Chlorella cell wall cracked or whole in Clean Greens?
Unlike many other algae’s, Chlorella has a uniquely fibrous cell wall that is indigestible for humans. Therefore if you were to consume regular whole chlorella, unfortunately all of the beneficial nutrients would be stuck inside the cell and unable to be absorbed. Luckily in Clean Greens we utilise cell wall cracked Chlorella so your body can obtain all the health benefits this nutrient dense algae has to offer.
What is E3 AFA (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae)?
Our E3 AFA is an Aquabotanical algae or cyanobacteria (similar to spirulina) that grows exclusively on the pristine lake Klamath in Oregon, USA. This unique ingredient is naturally rich in vitamin B12 and beta-carotene (vitamin A) and naturally contains a large concentration of chlorophyll and phycocyanin (the same antioxidant naturally found in spirulina). AFA is considered to be the most potent of the superfood algae’s and is suitable for all consumers but may be of particular benefit to vegan or vegetarian consumers wanting a suitable source of vitamin B12.
What is Blue Majik?
Our Blue Majik is a trademarked blue spirulina also grown in the USA. The reason our blue spirulina is so special is due to its careful processing that preserves all of the vital nutrients and phytochemical compounds. Many blue spirulina products can be poor quality, cut with maltodextrin and processed with chemicals for extraction. We’re proud to utilise this pure ingredient that only undergoes a water extraction method (similar to swiss water processing of coffee beans) and is naturally rich in chlorophyll, phycocyanin, B12 and Beta Carotene.
